I made a short trip to Tasmania, Australia from August 18, 2004 until August 22.  Together with a friend we hired a car and drove from Hobart to Hastings Caves a hundred or so kilometers south of the city.  Then we drove right across the island of Tasmania to Queenstown, and back to Hobart.

It was winter at the time with temperatures around the freezing point.  Being from Ottawa, where temperatures go down below -30C on a regular basis in the winter, I was not bothered by the Tassie cold.  However, getting acclimatized to it worked to my disadvantage when I arrived in the 35C heat with 90% relative humidity in Bangkok.

Below are pictures starting with Hobart, followed by Hastings Caves and area.
