Even with the trips to other countries in 2006, there were some very interesting things happening back home in Thailand.  The Annual Elephant Roundup ("Ngan Chang" in Thai) is a major event in the small city of Surin, which is located in the Northeastern part of Thailand, in the area known as Isaan.

Surin Elephant Roundup

The annual Elephant Roundup in the city of Surin is one of the major attractions in Thailand.

Famous Pachyderm

The longest tusks in Thailand! He's also the Beer Chang Mascot, as well as having acted in a major historical film about Thailand.

Lady Pachyderm

Helped break the Guiness World Record for the highest number of elephants (over 300) to attend a food buffet.

Traditional Dance
